Located in the Barcode, Cineworld has a huge IMAX screen, 4D, 3D and plenty of smaller screens showing the most recent releases. Loads of bars and restaurants are close by.
Lots of screens, comfy seats, and easy parking. Check out the 'Back on the Big Screen' pages to see classic films that might have been missed on the original release. Also shows concerts and some live sports events on the big screen.
Based in the Arts University, Plymouth Arts Cinema is Plymouth's only independent Arthouse Cinema. They show arthouse and world cinema films as well as more mainstream offerings. There are regular talks by internationally renowned filmmakers such as director Ben Wheatley, and Oscar winners Roger Deakins and Mia Bays. Tickets are discounted to only £4 for students under 25 years old.
Plymouth Arthouse Cinema also stages outdoor cinema screenings in the drier months in some awesome locations such as the Lido on the Hoe.
